A belated happy new year and lunar new year to you, beloveds!

I can`t believe it`s already almost the end of January - MADNESS! :O

Hopefully y`all have kept consistent with whatever new year resolutions and such set for 2012 :) I am quite behind on some of the daily Bible readings (one of my resolutions is to read through the whole Bible this year http://www.biblegateway.com/resources/readingplans/index.php/2012/01/01) but I`m not giving up yet ><! Apart from this I have no other resolutions..

Frankly, I don’t believe in “new year resolutions”.

The best day to change or try is TODAY. In fact, it`s the ONLY day to change. I`m sure y`all have heard “tomorrow never comes”.. If you leave something for later you`ve already failed in not even attempting, and if you`re unable to discipline yourself today what makes you think you can discipline yourself tomorrow? =_= *HYPOCRITE STATUSSS*

So to keep from being an utter hypocrite lol, I will resolve to eat healthily (no high-sugar drinks, fast food, limited general junk food..) and exercise (dance and stretch :D). FROM TODAY. For at least.. a month. :O T___________T…..

Recently, all that comes to mind when I look at my body is “what the fuck..!” and “when the fuck..?” lol..

In all seriousness I`ve been worried for a while I`m already well into the developing stages of type 2 diabetes mellitus, so I should go for a blood glucose check and really cut down on my sugar addiction…

Maggieee if you`re reading this I just saw your Green Tea tumblr, VERY inspiring thanks for following! <3 let`s keep each other accountable :))

In other news!

As mentioned in the last post, I got (with God`s ridiculous graceee) a Distinction in one of the high-fail subjects, and another great result in semester 1 of first year for another difficult subject.. and I was short-listed as a potential U:PASS leader for this year (U:PASS is a series of optional tutorials offered for high-fail subjects at UTS). I went for the interview and aced it (they told me I gave the perfect answer after each answer.. :/ I would have been a much, much scarier interviewer haha) and am going for a 2-day training workshop in Feb to see if I`m legible! :D

Reasons why I want this job:

1. There`s a side job I want in the future and this will definitely help me get there.

2. I will actually have to and will learn the course material this time. I honestly do not know how I managed to pass, let alone do well. Seriously God is too good.

I think the pay is quite low and it`s only 2 hours/week, but still. Really grateful and honored for the opportunity to do this! THANK YOU if you prayed for me during my exam period~ <3

Next bit of news/big news!

Speaking of exam periods.. As some of you will know, I auditioned for the Avance Global Auditions a couple of months ago.. during my exam time haha. It was a 9 minute singing, rapping and dancing fail video (LOL. it`s ok. just laugh with me.) that you amazing people brought up to 1000+ views, 66 likes and 5 dislikes :) I honestly didn`t expect such support and I am so grateful and embarrassed!!

Last week I was contacted by Avance Entertainment and offered a sponsored placement in one of  PDI-EPAA`s summer courses in London, LA, NY or Toronto.. But I have made up my mind to decline.. :((( T_______________T

AS MUCH AS IT`D BE AMAZING AND A DREAM full-time learning/practicing nothing but singing and dancing as well as other entertaiment skills (from people who probabaly know what they`re talking about..), the cost isn`t completely covered since it`s not a full scholarship. Plus I`d have to pay for flights and accommodation too - so in the end it`s a luxurious day-dream I can`t afford…

I might regret this later on/all my life hahaha but.. there`s nothing that can be done. I`m sure another opportunity will come around :P and the truth is.. I only tried in the first place because I thought they would fly final round auditionees to Seoul or Toronto like other Youtube audition programs. That way I could see you beloveds in Korea or Canada for FREEEE BUT NNNOOOOO hahahaha so yeah. Maybe next time. I hope you guys can support me even MORE because if there IS a next time, I`m gonna make sure it`s not an embarrassment. AND WIN. FORREALS x_____x hehehe. I have since deleted the video so pleaseee delete it from your memories ^^;;

The past few days have been a rollercoaster ride, which is new and different and extremely taxing ..

But the great things ::

1. NOT FAILING THAT SUBJECT I WAS ALMOST CERTAIN I FAILED.

2. GETTING A DISTINCTION IN SAID SUBJECT……?!!!??!! opening up unexpected opportunities..

3. beautiful food paired with beautiful company set in beautiful locations!

4. unbelievably wonderful friends who drop everything at once for you, and who you would sacrifice anything for <3

5. God reminding you He is FOR you not AGAINST you..

6. God slowly revealing part of His plans for you in the near future <3

7. Realising how much I have grown, how far I have come, how faithful God has been and is being to me over the past year.. I would never ever have believed it this time last year.

So much to be grateful for and genuinely happy about :))) And though there’s only about a week left for this year, I feel like many things will happen and continue to shake and change me.

Are you all happy?

With the last, lingering moments of 2011 I hope we can all tie up loose ends, reflect on the past year and visualise and pray for the coming new year :)

Last week on a rainy day I went for dinner with my mother :) Because I felt like having ribs. And we haven`t had a date for a while.

I wanted to take her to Ribs and Rumps at Olympic Park but a call informed us they`d been fully booked for the night. Oh well, Outback Steakhouse at Bakehouse Quarter (North Strathfield) instead~

I`ve only been to Outback a couple of times in Australia, but several times in Korea. I guess because here there are so many options for steak and ribs, but in Korea it`s generally expensive and Outback is a popular and more affordable place. Damn, I just remembered that steak restaurant in Coex Mall, great food, drinks and dessertsss <3 but of course pricey..

Anyway, Outback is consistent in that the service seems more “Americanised” and the food is better than average. Though all the traditionally Australian artwork and artefacts seem overly tacky, the dimmed, warm lights and buzzing tables make the atmosphere comfortable. 

We ordered the Queensland Salad and Drover’s Platter and a couple of simple house blend peach iced teas.

Though the salad itself is quite boring (chopped lettuce, baby tomatoes, bacon bits, croutons, grated cheese), the crispy chicken tenders and sweet mustard dressing we chose made it delicious and a good match for the meat dish.

The Drover’s Platter comes with a half rack of ribs and a large piece of grilled chicken breast with chips on the side. The pork ribs we chose weren’t as nicely glazed as I wanted, so in some bites it was overly saucy and in others just porky. But the meat was well cooked and fell off the bone easily, and the sauce was less sweeter than the ribs at Hurricane’s.

The iced teas were nowhere near sweet enough for me haha. I actually prefer the Lipton ones~

But again, I`m unsure of how to write this post, how much detail I should go in, what aspects I should write about and what to keep discreet.. So I suppose I`ll just describe to you some random, unconsequential thoughts I`ve had over the weekend.

:: Depending on who you share it with, a meal of bread and water can be the best meal of your life, and a 7 course degustation the worst. Luckilyyyyy for me, I had the equivalent of a degustation with FANTASTIC company..! Such a pleasure to meet Michael, Alfie, Amy onni and Clara C. Reden, Chris and Hanbit onni I <3 yous for making it all happen for me!~ :DDD

:: People are natural liars. They lie with every inch of their bodies but especially their tongue, eyes and hands.

:: It`s always a surprise meeting someone I can`t read. I`ve decided it`s fine for now but am undecided on whether that`s a good or bad thing.. I just hope they can`t read me either.

:: The GLBT world is different, complete with its own norms and unsaid rules. The first thing I learned about this world is that everyone in it KNOWS HOW TO PARTY.

:: Talents are given to be shared. Also applies to wealth, knowledge, love…

:: Even the tiniest paper-cut or splinter affects you. I think in the same way we should be affected when someone around us is hurting.. We`re all a part of the greater body of Christ after all.

:: I can`t play games. I`m not good at them.. I have no game.

:: I honestly adore Sydney.

I have several talented creative friends. 

For support and inspiration I went to the COFA (College of Fine Arts, part of UNSW) Annual which showcases works of graduating students last Saturday with Miss A and Joy. Every medium of art and design was featured, including sculpture, photography, textiles, jewellery, graphics, installations, ceramics, animation.. <3

(WOWW guys the pics seriously took ages to upload.. one by one upload seriously?? also I took ages deciding which ones >< I`ll probs never upload this many again.. but then again I`m a bored insomniac sooo =_=;)

these blue and purple bokeh lights are actually 3 pics of differing focuses (?) merged into 1. (took me like, half an hour to learn how.. guhhh =_=;) This was part of my favourite work from the whole thing - a teepee-type makeshift tent with “raindrops” falling into the rock pool. Rain sound effects, cushions on the floor, darkness.. loved it with all my senses~

second favourite! The artist drew and coloured (assuming mixed media) amaaazing scenes of Australian fauna and flora in another make-shift room, covering 3 whole walls and the floor! Absolutely fantastic and detailed work - apparently took 4 whole months.. How many animals can you spot in the first pic? I see 8.

Then on Monday went to COFA Annual Screening at the Ritz Cinema at Randwick for the premiere of Will Suen`s “Prelude to Passion”. The Screening features graduate works of 3D and 2D animations, video docos, shorts…

HONESTLY speaking, his work was the best by FAR. It was alluring, mysterious, fierce, visually stimulating, and the soundtrack was AWESOME. Not to mention Vivian looked utterly gorgeous and cray cray hahah~ Was amazed for sure at the final product. At the awards ceremony afterwards I (and everyone else!) kept waiting for Will`s name to be called but ugh, life is unfair… I think the judges must have conventional and conservative tastes =_= ah, wanna watch it again! From the first series of rapid shots to the final credits, really enjoyed it.

But props to my high school buddy Eddie for winning a prize! Best…something lol >< was great to randomly see him again :) Also great to see other recently-introduced creative souls Ann, Sujin, Paul and David again! ^^

Since everything needs purposes, I suppose this space on the vast internet realm will serve as my personal scrapbook.. simple bits and pieces of any/everything from my daily life :) I was tossing up between this or Wordpress but thought Tumblr would be easiest to share and connect/follow with you beloveds hehe. Please don`t share this with anyone (not that it will be interesting or tooo personal enough haha) because I`d like just a select group of friends to take part in this for now~ <3 I`m planning to (FINALLY ><) use Youtube, Flickr and Lookbook also, and so this page will be a connecting point for other things I dabble in.

It`s the holidays now!!! XD 3.5 months!~ So I`m going to update often, and with content you may want. I had/have requests for some acoustic covers, Sydney photography, food critiques, etc lol so I`ll try my hand at those to begin with ^^~ I`ve been meaning to improve my photography/videography skills for a looong time now and hopefully this will be another bit of motivation to lug my neglected EOS around ><;; Also, I feel that I`m almost overflowing with ideas and opinions and nonsense I can barely refrain from FB-status-updating =_=;; lol so I shall jot them here. Who cares if I spam/bitch/cry/dream here right? :)

I don`t want to regret a lack of journalling, photos, memos, stories, music, ranting, etc from what are supposed to be the prime years of my life hahah :P ..I`ll most def be face-palming when I see this in the future but meh~~ XD So please feel free to follow my Tumblr and check back here for a little escape and insight into.. me. ^^ <3
